Looking back on 2018 - 5 exciting Embarketing projects from last year!

When I talk to businesses about how best to approach their marketing, I encourage them to focus on two things, planning and consistency. Unfortunately, one of my most used lines has always been ‘Don’t look at my website or social media as an example’.

2019 is an opportunity for me to begin practicing what I preach, across our own Embarketing website and social media. By getting the whole team involved, we can help spread the load and deliver some fantastic content, inspiration and tips for you in 2019.

To kick things off, I decided to look back at 2018 and highlight some of our biggest achievements and awesome projects including website design, photography, social media, graphic design and more.

Dr Joe McGirr

Towards the end of 2018, A by-election saw Independent Dr Joe McGirr win the seat of Wagga Wagga. Following him taking office, Embarketing was tasked with helping Joe’s team by building a new website which enabled them to promote their key messages and showcase the work Joe is doing in the community in the lead up to the next state election this March.

This isn’t our first political rodeo, having also built the website for now Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack, and recently assisting Senate-elect Dr Mary Ross with social media setup for her campaign.

The key objectives for this website were to ensure the site was built using a platform their office staff could easily operate, news and blog functionality that can show off media releases, calendar and important information, as well as strong social media and database integration. With vibrant orange as his brand colour and the opportunity to use some of James’ beautiful Riverina landscape photos, we really enjoyed working on this site and can’t wait to see how this website evolves over the coming months.

Kitchen Antics

This website project was a huge effort, and one the Embarketing team is super proud of. Ecommerce websites are more complex than your average site, but when there are over 1500 products with a large amount of categories these need to be sorted into, it can make for a website development nightmare, as well as a horrible user experience.

Kitchen Antics is a kitchenware, giftware and homewares store located in Wagga Marketplace. A family run business, it was lovely to meet Scott and Louise and hear about the potential opportunities a new online store would bring to their business, including national and international markets, as well as an up-to-date and accurate catalogue for locals who might be shopping from home.

The template choice for this Shopify site required careful consideration to make sure it could cope with such a large catalogue. Ensuring users would be able to easily find or search for products was extremely important, as was not overwhelming them with too much info.

Throughout 2018, Embarketing also assisted Kitchen Antics with their social media marketing, including Facebook and Instagram, as well as email campaigns. James took some beautiful product and store photos which assisted the website build and social media posts. It was lovely to hear the positive comments received about their Instagram account from suppliers at 2018 trade shows.

Our Living History - Goulburn

Our work with Tilma Group over the past five years has helped fuel our passion for local tourism including destinations and events. With Tilma Group, we have had the opportunity to work on projects such as Blackbutt Avocado Festival, Casino Beef Week, Felton Food Festival, Ballina Prawn Festival, Canola Trail, Polocrosse World Cup 2019, Cloncurry Stockman’s Challenge and many more.

If you didn’t know, I am a lover of history, and when Tilma Group approached us to assist with Goulburn’s Our Living History festival, we jumped straight in. Embarketing created a simple website which could be easily maintained by the ‘non-techy’ committee, and James attended the festival to take photos at their huge calendar of historical themed events and locations, from the rose festival to historic convict sites such as the Towrang Stockade, and even a number of local cemeteries. We encourage you to check out this festival in 2019!

Wagga Mardi Gras

In late 2018, Holly Conroy reached out to Embarketing for marketing assistance with Wagga’s first ever Mardi Gras!

Not only is it a super fun event to be involved in, but it ticks all of the boxes for what we stand for such as inclusivity and the right to party!

We quickly developed a strong and vibrant brand and logo and then went about building a basic website to process float registrations and deliver news and updates. Following through with social media setup and mentoring and the chance to build a comprehensive database which will make marketing the future events even more successful.

With over 400 people set to march in the parade so far, this is going to be a brilliant event for Wagga in 2019.

Save the date and see you there - Wagga Wagga Mardi Gras Festival, the biggest party Wagga’s ever seen! Saturday 9th March 2019.

MPHN Murrumbidgee Community Grants Program

We love working with Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network, and in 2018 we were involved in various graphic design and website development projects including LifeSpan Murrumbidgee which works to prevent suicide via QPR training, a full website rebuild for MPHN, the Primary Healthcare Awards, 2018 Annual Report and many more

In late 2018, MPHN announced a new Community Grants program aimed at supporting farmers and communities as they deal with the uncertainty, stress and anxiety in drought affected areas. Embarketing worked with MPHN to develop a brand and logo, as well as a range of promotional collateral to assist with communication of this fantastic program. Activities eligible for funding through the Murrumbidgee Community Grants initiative include community orientated wellbeing activities and training, or workforce capability development projects.

With three levels of grants available, up to $30,000, ensure you check out Murrumbidgee Community Grants.
